Meet Nicole Becker, Sr. Sales & Marketing Manager, Kings Rosemont, IL

Party planning has been a part of Nicole Becker’s life since she was a kid growing up in Des Plaines, Illinois. Nicole’s parents had a two-story garage with a billiards table, pinball machine, sound system, a pool, hot tub and a bonfire pit. Naturally, her friends and parents’ friends would flock to her place to enjoy a fun escape and entertaining guests quickly became second nature to her.
Nicole officially entered the world of planning, selling and entertaining by attending Northern Illinois University to pursue her college degree, starting as an Early Childhood Education major. Upon discovering the school’s Hospitality Management Bachelor’s Degree, Nicole saw a match to her own talents. She switched majors and began to lay the educational foundation for her career. During her time at school, Nicole immediately put her planning skills to work at her sorority where she would plan events to raise money for philanthropy and to fun improvements for the organization.
Leaving school, Nicole didn’t waste any time finding her first job out of college, starting as a marketing intern at a local casino. At the casino, she continually impressed and developed through the organization over the course of six years. Nicole worked her way up to Group Sales and Event Supervisor where she would plan and coordinate a variety of group outings at the casino.
Seeking a change and an opportunity to grow even further, Nicole discovered Kings in 2018. She was initially intrigued by the fun nature of the concept (which we can’t help but notice shared many of the same great draws as her parent’s two-story garage). After speaking with members of the team during the interview process, she quickly became energized by the passion and growth opportunities that Kings has to offer.
Nicole is driven to wow her guests and she has put her natural talents for entertaining to great use at Kings. She appreciates the relationship between Sales Manager and Client, learning first about a guests’ goals for the event and then moving mountains to ensure her events exceed those goals. Her organized and goal-oriented nature have been keys to her success both within Kings and outside.
“Nicole entered our team at a time of incredible volume - during the holidays,” explains Doug Warner, Kings Sr. VP of Marketing & Business Development. “Despite the associated challenges, Nicole dove in fearlessly and showed a lot of grit as she committed to learning and getting better each and every day.”
Through that commitment to learning and growing, Nicole and her team in Rosemont are consistently bringing new life and attention to their versatile event spaces and unearthing new ways it can serve our guests and their needs.
When asked what’s been most rewarding at Kings, Nicole quickly mentioned her involvement in the community. Nicole has always had a passion for serving those in need and has found a great setting at Kings, through the Kings Cares program, to help others and bring attention to important causes. “Philanthropy is something near and dear to my heart, so I love being involved as much as I can” says Nicole.
When she’s not planning incredible events or working with her community, you can find Nicole at the gym, working on her personal blog, taking in a movie or walking through her neighborhood.
